The Optima Group decided to go with the tied arch alternative for the Main Bridge. In regards to aesthetics, the arch in this case would act as an arc with cables in tension. Compare to the first alternative, the bottom of the arc would mainly act as a deck, a regular deck bridge. The main reason we were not able to go with the first alternative was, due to not enough clearance.
